Important security information regarding Microsoft Word email attachments We would like to alert our Members that a threat has been identified regarding opening email attachments that appear as though they contain Microsoft Word documents. Opening these email attachments that look like a word document actually opens an executable Trojan horse program, called Trojan.Mdropper.H, which in turn gives a hacker access to the user's system. Microsoft have released a security patch that fixes the security vulnerabilities recently identified in Word 2000, 2002 (XP) and 2003, as well as in the Works Suite. The patch should be included in your next automatic update, but we recommend installing the patch as soon as possible before opening any suspicious attachments.
